Sr. Process Engineer - New York & Dallas Office

 

Job Details/Description

CNMECH is currently seeking a self-motivated Mid-Level Process Engineer to join our team. Our firm is responsible for water and wastewater plant design, transit facilities, industrial facilities, office space design, federal facilities, facility planning and condition assessment work. In this role, you will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff on various water and wastewater-related projects.

Job Expectations:

In this technical role, you will be preparing engineering drawings, calculations, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and technical reports for a variety of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of the CNMECH Design Group. You will be expected to manage small to midsize design tasks as a process mechanical task lead on projects with support from CNMECH subject matter experts. You will also be given the chance to mentor less experienced junior and entry-level engineers. Other responsibilities for this position include occasional site visits during various project phases, including equipment evaluation, process testing and troubleshooting, construction inspection and observations, and other types of fieldwork. 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute engineering work on water and environmental projects including wastewater treatment, water treatment, advanced treatment, and pumping and conveyance
  • Work on engineering designs preparing drawings, specifications, P&IDs, calculations, technical reports, and equipment selection for a variety of water or wastewater projects
  • Lead design tasks with assistance from CNMECH subject matter experts.
  • Perform process mechanical facility lead role (depending on experience)
  • Work with drafters and designers and coordinate with other disciplines to complete construction documents
  • Mentor less experienced junior and entry-level engineers
  • Assist with the preparation and writing of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
  • Assist or lead studies or alternatives analyses
  • Perform office engineering services during construction on projects you designed, including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, and other construction-related office engineering work
  • Check performance and/ or conformity with design drawings and specifications through field inspection and testing during the construction of your projects
  • Duties may also include occasional field activities such as site investigations, data collection, compilation, analysis, and documentation; these activities may require occasional travel to project sites that are not local to your home office
  • Regularly seek out guidance and implement feedback received from senior engineering staff

Required Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; M.S. degree preferred
  • P.E. certification/registration in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil in good standing preferred
  • Experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical memoranda, etc. is required
  • 5 to 7 years of increasing responsibility in related experience preferred
  • Task design lead experience is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Access, Outlook, etc.) required
  • Experience performing engineering calculations using computer software (Excel, Mathcad, etc.) is required
  • Experience writing and editing equipment and piping specifications is required
  • Experience with AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom is preferred
  • Experience with ProjectWise Explorer is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Amount of travel required:  20%

Responsibilities:

  • With high-level goals provided, create, establish and support client relationships and lead project and technical delivery for opportunities in the Industrial/MEP/Facilities markets.
  • Performing other duties as required such as creating mechanical and piping designs of basic to high complexity including: Development of P&IDs; selection of industrial equipment (pumps, rotating machinery, conveying equipment, etc.); Mechanical Systems (water, steam, compressed air, and co-generation systems). Evaluate piping systems utilizing CAESAR II, Bentley AutoPIPE, or similar software as required to ASME B31 Standards.
  • Review draft designs for compliance with ASME Codes, AWWA Standards, federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs. Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Work on engineering designs preparing drawings, specifications, P&IDs, calculations, technical reports, and equipment selection for a variety of water or wastewater projects

Architectural Designer - New York & Dallas Office

Job Details/Description

CNMECH is currently looking for Architectural Designer  to join our team. As an Architectural Designer at CNMECH you will have the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of technical experts working on Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Federal and Municipal projects. 

Responsibilities:

The Architectural Designer will have the following responsibilities:  

  • Work with Senior and Project Architects to plan, program, and formulate building design and prepare design presentation and construction contract documents.
  • Coordination of building design and construction contract documents with architectural and multi-discipline engineering staff.
  • Mentor and guide junior architectural staff on multi-discipline projects.
  • Research and participate in the selection of construction materials, technologies and methodologies for detailing and specifications.
  • Evaluate compliance with applicable planning, zoning, and building codes and regulations, including coordination with agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Collect background project information and documentation including “as-built” data, including field observation as necessary.
  • Review technical submittals for projects under construction lifecycle experience. 

Minimum Qualification:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • 4 years of related experience with a Registered Architect (RA) license. If no RA, then 4 years of experience with 1 years working under an RA or other professional which meets NCARB standards.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid technical knowledge and design application knowledge.
  • Solid knowledge of technologies and methodologies in the use of construction materials.
  • Solid knowledge of Building Information Modeling and software, preferably Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD. 
  • Familiarity with rendering software programs.
  • Basic understanding of Bluebeam Revu.
  • Solid knowledge of basic business office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Amount of travel required:  10%

Responsibilities:

The Structural Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, performs structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of basic complexity to meet client project requirements. 
  • Assists in the development of models, drawings, and specifications. 
  • Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. 
  • Coordinates designs with other engineering disciplines. Applies firm policies and practices on all designs. 
  • Assists in structural condition assessment and confined space entries. 
  • Performs other duties as required.  

Minimum Qualification:

  • B.S. degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; M.S. degree preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of Experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.

Our firm is responsible for water and wastewater plant design, transit facilities, industrial facilities, office space design, federal facilities, facility planning and condition assessment work. As a Co-op or Intern, you will apply and develop your engineering skills, as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of technical experts working on Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Federal and Municipal projects. 

Responsibilities:

During this internship or co-op, you will work with our team members and assist in conducting site assessments, adjusting design parameters as needed, and conducting water quality analyses and modeling, design calculations, equipment selection, and basic CADD work.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. 
  • Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). 
  • Good verbal and written communication ability.
